Saw something new in Legends of the Fall 3 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
It had been several years since I watched Legends of the Fall. I had never thought about it before but it suddenly occurred to me that Brad Pitt's character, Tristan was an image of The Prodigal Son.

Every time Tristan takes off, his Father welcomes him back with open arms when he returns. His brother played by Aidan Quinn resent him. Towards the end of the movie he says something to the effect, "I played by the rules and did everything right. You did no such thing and everyone loves you instead of me." This is the same message and reaction by the Prodigal son's brother in the bible.
